What is your approach to advising/working with students?
Advising is a form of collaboration between an advisor and advisee, working together towards a common goal. It is a teaching environment where students can learn how to grow academically, professionally and personally.
How did you get here?
I was born in Glendora, CA. Grew up in Philippines. Came back in the U.S. when I was 14 years old. Graduated at Beyer High School. Received my M.S. in Student Affairs and College Counseling and my B.A. in Liberal Studies Concentrated in Mathematics at California State University, Fresno. I started as the graduation specialist for the College of Health & Social Sciences. Currently, I am the retention specialist for the College of Health & Social Sciences.
Most unusual job you ever had?
I haven’t experienced an unusual job. However, I worked at various restaurants as a server when I was in college. I was working two serving shifts while being a full-time student. It was difficult, but I did it. Your hard work is the key to your success.
About me (likes and hobbies)
I love traveling and experiencing the world. I also like shopping, especially in the clearance section. I enjoy singing and watching movies/TV shows. I try to incorporate exercise in my life style. I'm a FOODIE!!! Especially when I travel and get to experience the culture.

What advice do you have for SF State Gators?
Embrace your life experience (good and bad) because it will help you grow. Work hard because it will be worth it at the end. Believe in yourself and never stop pushing towards your highest potential. Find a career that will give you fulfillment. Be Happy! Utilize the campus resources to maximize your experience here at SF State. Lastly, Don’t give up, keep going! You Can Do It!
