Congratulations to our UCSF/SFSU Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Class of ’21 for successfully presenting their capstone projects during the program’s Annual Spring Symposium! The event was held virtually this year, but the projects and the presentations were stellar nonetheless. Students performed systematic reviews and meta-analysis on a wide variety of topics spanning all areas of physical therapy.

Keynote speakers for the event were Dr. Paula Braveman, professor of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF, who spoke on “What is health equity — and what can the health sector do about it?” and David Rebanal, assistant professor of Public Health at SF State, who spoke about “Practice-based evidence for health equity and healing.” Thank you to our Evidence-based Practice Team headed by Diane Allen, along with our faculty and clinician readers for shepherding our students through the capstone process.

The students’ work can be viewed here.
