Public Health Lecturer Deborah Craig received a California Documentary Project Grant from California Humanities. Her documentary-in-progress about lesbian feminist activist and San Francisco State professor emeritus Sally Gearhart was one of 13 awarded funding this year. Gearhart celebrated her 90th birthday last month, and Craig and her team hope that this funding from California Humanities will help bring Gearhart the recognition she so richly deserves.
Nesbit consults on UCSF pediatric hemorrhagic stroke project that receives American Stroke Association grant
Casey Nesbit, assistant professor in the UCSF/SFSU Graduate Program in Physical Therapy, is a consultant for a project in collaboration with UCSF’s Weill Institute for Neurosciences that received a $2,500,000 grant from the American Stroke Association’s Bugher Centers of Excellence in Hemorrhagic Stroke. The research focuses on hemorrhagic stroke in children. The team is establishing an international registry of information about etiologies, clinical management and barriers to care related to hemorrhagic stroke in children. In addition, they are developing a toolbox of patient-centric outcome measures to assess post-stroke recovery in this pediatric population.
