A new LGBTQ+ older adult online survey, developed in partnership with the San Francisco Department of Disability and Aging Services and funded by the Horizons Foundation and the Bob Ross Foundation, was activated on February 1. Marcy Adelman, vice chair of the California Commission on Aging, has invited PACE Gerontology Professor and Coordinator Darlene Yee-Melichar and PACE Gerontology Lecturer Cristina Flores to assist with outreach efforts.
The survey, available in English and Spanish, will help identify the unmet needs of LGBTQ+ older adults, age 50+ who live and or work in San Francisco by collecting data on health challenges and barriers accessing health services during the COVID pandemic. The information from this survey will help guide city policy and government and philanthropic resources to the most pressing health-related issues.
Your help in publicizing the online survey and encouraging participation in the survey is requested, so that as many older (age 50+) LGBTQ+ adults who live and/or work in the Bay Area as possible will be able to share their experience. Survey link here
If anyone would prefer to complete the survey by phone, in either English or Spanish, they can call this confidential line (415) 935-3978 and leave a message and a community research assistant will return the call. Contact Marcy Adelman (email@example.com) with any questions.
