Steve Adami was recently awarded two Employee of the Year Awards from the Chief Probation Officers of California (CPOC) — one for the Bay Area Region, and one for the State of California. He was selected in recognition of his collaborative approach and the balanced voice for both rehabilitation and recovery he brings when advocating for client services. Adami joined the San Francisco Adult Probation Department in 2014 and has been interim director for the Reentry Division since February 2020. Before enrolling in the MPA program at SF State, he became clean and sober after having spent more than 20 years addicted to drugs and in and out of prison. At SF State, Adami was inducted into a National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration and received the Barbara Jordan Award for Academic Excellence. Adami earned his MPA in 2014, four years after his release from prison.
Miguel Gutierrez was recently selected as a member of the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30. This program is a year-long education and mentorship opportunity for a special group of 15 male and 15 female coaches who are leading the way in developing soccer players and enhancing the game. Gutierrez was one of only seven high school coaches chosen for the program.
