Introducing the College of Health & Social Science’s first-ever staff recognition program
The purpose of the College of Health & Social Science’s Circle of Excellence Award Program is to honor staff and celebrate their exceptional and unique contributions, which are critical to the College’s mission.
The Circle of Excellence Award Committee—which consists entirely of staff members—oversees the development, implementation and institutionalization of this recognition award program. It is our belief that honoring staff is the foundation of a supportive and positive workplace.
The committee will evaluate the merits of each nomination and will make recommendations to the executive leadership of the College. The committee will ensure recipients are selected in an objective manner based on the content provided in the criteria indicated in the award categories.
Award categories and criteria
Behind the Scenes Wonder
Quality work done behind the scenes that contribute to the success of programs, projects or operations. Essential contributions that resulted in achieving the goals of the program, project or operations. Despite unexpected challenges and limited resources, quality work was produced with a positive and willing attitude.
Model CHSS Citizen Award (“Golden Donut”)
Unique and outstanding contributions which support the advancement of the College’s mission by demonstrating the College’s core values of collaboration, leadership and excellent service. “Focuses on the donut, not the hole.” Contributions that involve social justice are highly desirable for this award.
Bright Idea Award
Created a new process, procedure or way of thinking to resolve issues or get work done more efficiently. Developed a mechanism that positively impacted several functional areas which alleviated the work load of other employees, allowing them to focus on other essential duties. Developed a solution that breaks down boundaries and build bridges.
